The new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 is no trouble, allegedly

Temerario is the first model that the car company developed for the GT3 program separately. In the past, Audi was involved in the construction of GT cars.

And although it was a cold shower for the Lamborghini at the Red Bull Ring under the DTM, factory pilot, Max Paul, evaluates car development positively.

"I was very happy with the car at Lausitzring. I can't confirm any of the rumors that were going around at the beginning of the year that the car was a failure or anything like that. We have a good car and we have made huge progress from Red Bull Ring," says Paul for motorsports-total. com.

The Dresden native even believes there might be a surprise in his home race. "Especially now that we put everything together on the slower lausitzuring track, the car could behave very well and possibly be successful."

So far, the sixth place of the driver of the Abt Lamborghini Lucy Engstler team in Zandvoort was the best result of the Temeraria GT3 in DTM, after no Lamborghini driver had reached the top ten in Spielberg, where four new supercharged cars fought at the back of the field.

But what role has been played by the additional DTM homologation, which allows Temeraria to use a new holder with a sharper angle of the rear wing than the FIA allows?

"The jump from Red Bull Ring to Zandvoort was already so massive. We've gained pressure, which I think is necessary, as well as greater power. At Red Bull Ring, we were totally out of the picture. Even with the settings changed, we couldn't get much."

Thanks to the "public support" they now have "a car that is at least competitive," he says with reference to specific regulations. "Now we have to fine-tune it to make it manageable, which we have already achieved in one direction. But of course, it doesn't end there."

Even times give reason for optimism: Paul's team colleague Mirko Bortolotti was the fastest driver of Lamborghini during testing at Lausitzring and ended in the sixth, 0.314 seconds behind Finn Wiebelhaus of HRT Ford. Paul finished eighth.

"Of course, we must now see how this will turn out in the race, because at the moment we are still at a stage where we are constantly trying to improve. And other manufacturers have more experience with their cars, or have existed longer, and know where they can hide their weaknesses," he said and did not rule out the possibility that competitors did not draw all the cards.
