Historical Norisring offers a historic window in the form of classic DTM cars

The history of DTM comes to life: The peak of the DTM season, which takes place from July 3rd to July 5th at Norisring, Nuremberg, would not be complete without going back in time and exploring the rich history of the series. During the performance trips of the historic DTM cars, for all three days of the event iconic cars from different DTM periods will meet on a circuit that is inextricably linked to history.

Among those who will represent early, series years of DTM, will be Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16V, several BMW M3 E30 and various Fordy Sierra Cosworth. Behind the wheel of one BMW M3 E30 will be Herbert Wittmann, father of DTM champion Marc Wittmann, for whom this event is a home race. Toyota Supra MK3 DTM Jörg Schori has a special history at Norisring: the car from the Far East bears the number 50 - the same as in the DTM race at Norisring in 1989.

DTM from the early 1990s will be represented by several cars, including Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II, Opel Omega Evo 500 and Audi V8. The other one will be driving a former DTM racer and local hero Gerhard Müller from Schwabach, who knows exactly what it's like to race at DTM on Norisring. Sebastian Asch, son of the legend DTM Roland Asch, will drive the Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo I.

Young Thomas Rackl is returning to his home circle. The Berching rider who raced in the German ADAC GT4 last year will be driving the 1994 BMW 320 STW, representing the Super Touring Car Cup era.

The recent history of DTM will represent the original Opel Astra V8 Coupé DTM from 2003, which was once driven by Joachim Winkelhock, and the AMG Mercedes class C DTM from 2006.

The DTM Classic race will take place on Friday from 13: 20 to 13: 40 and from 17: 40 to 18: 00, on Saturday from 12: 05 to 12: 25 and from 17: 20 to 17: 35 and on Sunday from 10: 05 to 10: 15 and from 16: 30 to 16: 50.
