DTM considers its history: Historical cars will be presented at the Nurburgring

Few circuits are so closely connected to DTM as the Nürburgring, which hosts this series every season since 1984 - without exception. Therefore, it is only convenient that during the DTM weekend from August 13 to August 15, a selection of legendary DTM classics - including Audi V8, Mercedes 190E Evo II and BMW M3 E30 - will be conducted on the Grand Prix circuit and will enable viewers to experience the beginnings of the series.

Visitors can also look forward to the real legend behind the wheel: DTM champion Kurt Thiim will ride with Mercedes 190E EVO II. The Dane, during his active work in the series, has tasted twice the win on "Green Hell." In 1986 he also crowned his season with a title in the Rover Vitesse. His son is now also dreaming of winning a title: Nicki has made impressive efforts in Aston Martin this year and can be sure that his father will be cheering for him on the race track.

Since last year, DTM has a new favorite audience: Ford Mustang GT3. With Arjun Maini and Finn Wiebelhaus in the cockpit, this muscle car has already reached the winner's stage several times this season. However, the new Ford GT3 racing car is not the first "Pony" to appear at DTM. At the end of the 1980s and early 1990s, Berlin's private man Gerd Ruch joined the Third Generation Mustang, known as Foxbody, and won the hearts of the audience. More than 30 years later, the stallion from Michigan returns to Nürburgring, where fans will be pleased with the unique sound of his powerful V8 engine.

And for Ford fans, there are even more prepared: three Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 cars, a winning car from 1988, will be thrilled. The classic DTM races will be complemented by rarity from Japan: original Toyota Supra Mk3 DTM from 1987. In 1989 the car took part in the races at the Nürburgring with Philippe Müller behind the wheel and still keeps its original appearance and historical starting number.
