DTM returns to Nurburgring, which is a summer classic championship
On 14-16 August, DTM arrives at the Nürburgring, where the sixth of the eight companies of this season the championship will swing to its decisive stage. The compact sprint version of the Eifel mountain circuit offers fans a great view of the track and everything is ready for an exciting racing weekend.
Maro Engel is coming to Nürburgring as the leader of the championship. The Mercedes-AMG hopes to finally get his first degree in DTM in his tenth attempt.
At the iconic Nürburgring, the DTM stars will fight for every position before the final finalist of this year's title contest. There will be only two stops left - Sachsenring and the Hockenheim Finals.
Thomas Preining is also on the attack. At the last racing weekend in Oschersleben, the factory driver Porsche returned significantly to the race for the title when he attributed himself to victory and third place. The Austrian will also want to follow up on his excellent results at the Nurburgring, which is his team's home business.
The HRT Ford Racing team also awaits the home race. The Stable based in Drees will rely on a proper dose of Ford strength - behind the wheel of a pair of Mustang GT3 cars, Arjun Maini and Finn Wiebelhaus will settle.
Together with the DTM, the ADAC GT4 Germany, the BMW M2 Cup and the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will also take care of a large portion of the action on the track. In addition, fans can look forward to the journey to history thanks to a series of demonstration rides of classic racing cars reminiscent of the 40 years of DTM history.
The rich program also awaits visitors outside of racing. On Saturday night, the audience can look forward to the "DTM- Trucks Go and Stop" contest, during which the drivers of the individual DTM teams will compete directly on the starting and finishing straight line with their team tractors.
On Saturday, the new champion DTM eSports Championship will also be crowned at the Nurburgring. The finals of the virtual racing series will take place in the RaceRoom SimRaceCafé.
But the attractive program will start on Friday. The audience will be given the opportunity to set off the buses within the so-called Safari directly on the line in Eiffel, together with DTM cars that will move around them.
